游埠 (Youbu)古镇,a nice place to eat!

I had heard that one particular village had a nice collection of traditional foods. The town of Youbu is about 90km from Yiwu so we had to head off early in the morning to avoid the inevitable tourist rush. We arrived there with plenty of time to spare (good driving skills, Pablo)

People still get up early on this side of the world, though. The early bird might catch the worm but that early bird would be caught over here by ....ugh...an earlier bird 👏

Vats of soy sauce

A closer inspection

The bu in Youbu  means port. You could see a river running through the place. I guess that played a big part in this area for the last few hundred years.

Where the magic happens

As we entered the town, I saw that the buildings seem to be the similar to the  ones seen in Fotang.

Traditional 老街 style buildings.
Wonder if anyone lives upstairs. 👆

Enough wondering about the buildings, time to see some food. Fried if possible.

Some kind of eggcentric manifestation.
Tasty grub, though

This is 9 in the morning.
Does anybody sleep on a Saturday morning around here?

Getting the white of the egg inside the cake
shaped pancake is a delicate process

Tasty egg treat 💥

There was plenty of food on offer here. Egg was definately the order of the day. Throw in a bit of pork and I was good to go.

tasty wrapped goodness

Keeping an eye on things

Taking a photo of people taking a photo.
People like to use the cameras in YouBu!

We decided to grab some food and chill out a bit away from the crowds which were starting to assemble in the thoroughfare.

Meatballs , some glutinous stuff
and an egg which has a bit of
meat inside it.

Inside view of said egg. Very tasty.

One of the dining tables

My face was set to stunned after eating that meat tasting egg.

Anyway, it was nice to taste a few different foods over here. The weather was class ,too.

Roll on , March!
